Case Study 1

1.      Define the following (paraphrase words that are not yours):

·         Human – is the person who uses things to do. He is one who control the environment to make it well organize and beautiful.

·         Computer – the famous device nowadays. A technology that most people use to receive data’s and stored files.

·         Interaction – means, there is action between two or more person and an object. Communicating to others and sharing information like the human and computer.

2.      How do computers affect humans? Enumerate and explain the ways. In not less than 150 words.

·         Entertainment – the human entertained through the computer by playing games. With that, it affect in a good way because of having the moment of happiness. It can also be in a bad way because of unhealthy body, sickness and costly.

·         Expressing - make clear what your needs are, and how to have them met without hurting others. Being assertive does not mean being pushy or demanding. It means being respectful of yourself and others.

·         Suppressing - holding in anger, trying to convert it into something positive. Or taking action when you are not as angry and can focus.

·         Calming - controlling the domestic reactions, taking steps to lower heart rate, calm you down and let the feelings fall down. Computers were created because they did certain jobs better and more capable than a human. It can solve problems in a fraction of the time it takes man. In our days technology moves forward and these “machines” which were only a tool, became a part of our life. We use them in every part of our day and most especially when were in our job. Networks end especially Internet are a world unlimited possibilities. This is all how computers affect humans.

3.      What are the other aspects of science that directly affected or related to HCI? Explain your answer.

·         Psychology – the study of human functions. Like the soul and mind of a human on how it functions. It can read our mind and express our feelings.

·         Language – by setting words at home and a form of communication with a correct grammar, has a symbol and the alphabet that also define the word language.

·         Sociology – it is a social science or let me say the study of society that developed by the human.

·         Engineering – is applying technical knowledge to design and build materials.

·         Semantics – the study of meaning, usually in language. Also the meaning of a word, text and the sentence.

·         Design – the sketch or layout of the object you create.
